About the Author
Aircraft was Roger Williams' first love, and he joined the de Havilland Aircraft Company where he quickly added motorcars to his list of prime interests. During the ensuing six years he not only completed his apprenticeship and studies, but also built two Ford-based specials. and in 1986 he started his own consultancy business, which allowed him to restore numerous MGBs, a Triumph TR6 and a Triumph Stag, and to write several MGB and Triumph TR books.

Almost got it right

This is a good basic book on the resto of the TR2-3B series. Although I was disappointed in the lack of detail on the electrical system, carbs, brake lines, fuel lines and so forth. The sticklers to restoring these cars is getting the details right and this has like a 10,000 ft overview rather than a detailed coverage. One other glaring note, there are too many references to the TR4 car in this book. The author should have chosen to write one book at a time rather than attempt to put out 2 book on the TR2-3B and the TR4 series. It show because of the constant use of illustrations and comparisons of the TR2-3B to the TR4, this does not help in the restoration of this car.

I've been through this book cover to cover. It is hands down, the best guide available. I believe there is a newer edition available now. But you won't go wrong with this guide. Check out the British Car Forum for more Triumph restoration info.

Wonderful Starting point

This book is a great guide to the many rivers I have spent time on in Michigan. It is not going to put you on the honey-holes, but it will provide you with good maps and the right strategies to have a sucessful day on the river. It also provides area business #'s, which I have found helpful on several occassions. Jim Bedford knows what he is taking about. Great investment.

Everything I had hoped for.

Being fairly new to fly fishing for trout, I was looking for some help in where to go and what to use so I would not have to start from scratch. Jim has obviously been there and done that. His tips, techniques, and sites are outstanding. This book is a must for anyone getting started and a great asset to those who are looking for additonal information. I found it to great not just for the information it has on the fish, but on all the other stuff- how to get to the best spots, things to watch out for, noise/distractions around the river, ease of access, etc. Using this book, you will have a realistic picture of what the fishing experience is going to be like.

Teaching yourself is the only way to learn this product

My view on what a good software book ought to look like has changed a bit over the years. I use to think it needed to include all of the step-by-steps with detailed examples, but the books just kept coming out with longer and longer list of steps that took forever to navigate. Then I wanted comprehensive desktop reference books but found I never read them and I was always throwing them out with my increasing number of phone books that would pile up in my office. Often I would buy one of those books and then realize when the new version came out I had never even opened the book. I am not sure why I though I would read several 1000+ page technical reference books a year. I can't even get throught the New York Times on Sundays anymore. Besides, MSP on-line help has improved so much that approach seems a bit dated.
Oh yes, I am embarrassed to admit, I too have bought the dummy and idiot books. I won't say more.
For me, learning software is all up to me. I have to teach myself and all I need is a basic guide to work with. I want simple, clean, easy to read, and to-the-point types of books. You know, books that give you just the right amount of information about topic to get you pointed in the right direction. Books, that you mind to much when you find yourself sort of thumbing through topics. Sort of learning and little, and then moving to another topic. This book fits the bill for me. I know software pretty well so I just want the "gist of a topic," a good screen example, and then a couple of steps. Then I am off figuring out the rest on my own.
What I also like about this book is the consistency in approach and organization. Every page has two screen captures in the same location. The steps are right below them, and a topic is only going to span a couple of pages.
I like the blue. The book feels good.
One thing I found myself doing with this book is looking up all of the web sites referenced on the odd-numbered pages. Found some cool project management stuff along the way and read chapters that caught my eye.
Seems MSP is starting to look more like a project management tool with its new WBS custom codes and network diagram that seems to actually work. Now, if Microsoft would only spend a little money on the product and give us a multiple undo (say at least 100) for a little if-then-thinking, I would be a happy planner.

Quinn's Teach Yourself Microsoft Project 2000 is on target. Many of the people that I meet and work with want to learn or enhance their Microsoft Project skills. Learning theory tells us that teaching ourselves is an excellent, effective and efficient way to master new skills. A critical issue is whether the materials are available, and that's a role this book fulfills.
Reviewing and reflecting immediately upon learning new materials lead to mastery of the subject. Specifically, the end-of-the-chapter sections, Personal Workbook, Extra Practice, Visual Quiz, and Real-World Applications, provide superior self-teaching opportunities. This book states it purpose to allow us to learn Microsoft Project 2000 on our own terms and pace and accomplishes its goals. It's a great way to learn this important and popular software.

This is a well intentioned handbook, but, unfortunately in my opinion, falls short of it's intended goal. For anyone that has prior training in Neuromuscular Therapy in it's various incarnations, this will seem extremely basic. The book gives a decent basic overview of trigger point therapy, and a guide to which muscle areas to work on for each condition. What drags this book down, however, is the over-emphasis on incorporating basic relaxation massage methods/strokes at the expense of further detail on specific trigger point locations and referred pain patterns.

Great refresher/reference book

When I became a Licensed Massage Therapist, I decided to focus mainly on relaxation massage and energy work. However, I am finding more and more clients need Deep Tissue/NMT work. I bought this book to help me refresh my skills in that modality. I have found it to be an amazing reference book and the DVD is fabulous. I find it very beneficial to have the indications and contraindications right at my fingertips. Although I may not follow the exact routine that is in the book, it always provides me with a great starting point. It is so helpful to have both the written instructions and then to see the work being done. This book should be added to the "must haves" for any massage therapist.

Not what I had hoped for...

Although this text provides a wealth of American history, it does only an average job of providing the reader with true female perspective of that history. Students will struggle with how to properly study chapters for class testing. Some terms, like the use of "Indian" in regards to Native Americans, are antiquated. The reader is left with the feeling that women did not contribute enough to American history to merit a story outside of the male experience.

Excellent read for a college book!!

Excellent read for a college book!! It has interesting stories, pictures and examples of important dates and times in history. It was actually very fun to read. Highly recommend. This is one of the only text books throughout my college career that I plan on keeping.
